We finally decided to get a dog. We searched through various shelters....a Boxer?....no.....a Basset Hound?......no......a little white dog?......no. Then we saw her. A cute little tannish puppy looking at us, wiggling her rump with a "Hey! Look at me!!! I'm cute, you want ME!" look on her face. One of the staff members took her out for us, and she cuddled up, wagging her adorable curly tail and licking our faces. It was a match made. The next day we picked up Colby and brought her to a local pet supply store, where we got her toys, food, a leash and collar, treats...all the things we needed.
Colby is still that puppy we picked up at the shelter. She loves to wiggle around, chase squirrels up trees, take two mile walks, cuddle up on the couch, and best of all, she loves it when I bake her some munchies. Colby is a great pal. She's so intelligent and loving, easy to train....Colby is a miracle. She was thrown out a car window in a sack .

happppy happy happy for you and for her!!!!! Can u imagine what it must like to be so scared, in a place full of smells that are stress, and fear, and your just a little kid that doesn't understand a thing other than you miss your mom and oh where are your mates! And then to have somebody chose YOU and wrap you up in love, and then oh my get you all kinds of groovey stuff...better than Christmas, and a million birthdays, it must be a dog's dream of heaven. Hope you have a long and wonderous life together.

You bet you did!! And the little roly poly body and the little curly tail....we have pictures of her when she was a pup, I might be able to show you one or two--she was and still is a real cutie pie.

I know she loves us so much and it feels so good to know we rescued her. She was at a no-kill shelter luckily and funny thing is she was only there for 1-2 days before we adopted her--she grabbed our hearts and never let go.
