A few health issues recently..

My female 3 yr old pitbull was pepper sprayed by a guy who tried to break in the house. The guy got away. I gave her a bath and she seemed fine.

Approximately one week later she had a seizure. It was the first one I ever saw. It was so bad I rushed her to the Emerg. Vet. His first question was if she had ever had seizures before. I said NO. His immediate reaction was that it seemed like a poison.

They had to drug her up i think with valium. Then she started calming down. He had us sit outside and wait. He came out to talk to us and said that during his check up he truly believes it was a poison and asked if we used "snail bait" or any other chemicals etc around the yard. Which is NO. All we have is some rose bushes and grass.

I left her 24 hrs for monitoring. Picked her up in the morning and he said that she had no other seizures the whole night and recovered perfect. He told me to watch her the next few days. I slept near the glass door at night and nothing....

We could not figure out if this was random or perhaps the guy came back to poison her or what.

Prior to this her back legs seemed to be getting arthritis. When we would tell her to sit she would kind of lean to the side. This just started whithin the last 6 months.

Now since the seizure, they seem to be getting worse and she isnt eating as much, looks fairly thin around the stomach area. It has been about 2 weeks since the seizure.

I have been feeding canidae for about 1 year +. What do you recommend I do? Should I try some Vitamins or supplements? Maybe a multi along with glucosamine???

Boy !! talk about triple whammies !! This could be completely unrelated to the pepper spray ! How do you know she was sprayed ??? Arthritis should not be seen in a dog this young... there may be a neurological issue involved. I'd vet check further.

I know she was sprayed because when I came home her face & chest had orange and I could smell it in the air. I then tasted it (dont ask:p ) and im positive it was..

I dont think that is related but im no expert.

She seems like she has trouble bending down to sit. She kind of goes half way down, then falls on the side of her hind leg the rest of the way down. The only symptom ive seen before this was when she would crawl out of her dog house she would sometimes limp as if her back leg was asleep. But I assumed thats what it was...

Dharma was sprayed badly by a skunk last year and had two seizures about a week later. I haven't figured out why, but I think there must be a correlation as well. She is 6 and hasn't had them before, and hasn't had any since.
