ROXIE'S FOLKS

G'day!

Long time reader second time poster.

Here's the problem. Roxie our collie lab mix has been sneezing like crazy of the past couple of days and isn't getting better. She's still playful, eats like a pig, drinks a lot and BM's are normal. This morning she didn't run to see me when I came downstairs, she just layed on her bed wagging her tail. I just recently got her up playing.(seems fine)

Her nose is running (a lot) it's very cold and wet, and sneezes. Her breathing seems to be alright when relaxed, but when she gets excited, she snorts and sneezes quite a bit. (breathing out of mouth more)

She's been vaccinated for kennel cough and such. (all vaccines are up to date)

I've done a search (on here) as well as a google search. Some places are saying cold, some places are saying allergies. Should we be worried?

I checked her ears, one looks a like there is a litte red wax (possible minor infection) and head shaking is a little more than normal. I'm not worried, I just wish we knew what it was.

Should we take her in the the vet?

this time of year sneezing, runny nose, sounds like the pollen is affecting her. have you tried benadryl to see if that helps? it's 1mg per pound. So if your dog weighs 25pounds it would get a 25mg tablet. anyway a vet checkup never hurts either but i would suggest trying that first. the red wax in the ear sounds a little odd to me, so might need to go in for an ear exam anyway.

Glad to see this thread! Tugger is sneezing up a storm now....and has had a runny nose (wet...sometimes with bubbles!)....and I called the vet as well. At first they suggested that perhaps he inhaled something and it was caught in his nose. However, when I gave her all the times he does sneeze....she stated that it's probably allergies. A dog with allergies......what next?!?!? Tugger typically sneezes when he first gets out of his crate.....once he's been walking around for a while, they subside.
