Heres my dogs typical everyday meal other then when we're out on a race. Each dog gets 3/4-1lb per dog of raw meaty chicken, ground veggie slop 2-3 cups of this, supplements, liver or kidney depending what i have at the time, and chicken quarters. A before race diet would be veggie mush, supplements, and canned Mackeral and salmon. I also feed my dogs raw turkey meat from the backs and necks, baked yams, and supplements. Usually every morning each of the dogs get a raw beef bone, and before bed they each get a raw turkey back or neck all depending on what i have. Sometimes i throw in some dry dog food into their normal diet and rice.

And when i have puppies being weaned i feed them baby puppy cereal with some fat or tiny shredded peices of beef.

I give my dogs mainly raw food but also cooked with suppliments on certain occasions.

Garlic, flaxseed meal, eggs and yogurt are some good additions too. My dogs get those when I have them. My bunnies LOVE flax too. Flax is also called Linseed

The only thing I would suggest is cutting back on the organ meats, especially liver and kidney. Those are the organs in the body where toxins are filtered and stored, particularly the liver, and whatever eats the liver (and kidneys) eats the stored toxins.

It sounds like your dogs eat quite well, though! Bet they love to see you coming with the food. :D

I have been giving my pups: ground turkey, grated carrots, chopped apple, barley, yogurt......mixed in with kibble, a little bit of canned food for moisture. An added egg twice a week..a bit of olive oil twice a week. Is this Ok? They sure seem to love it and I think a bit of extra carbs is good in the winter (since they insist on being outside so much...needed calories for body heat????)

I love to learn what other folks are feeding...I really want to give my babes a good meal.

Well, there's really no need for the canned food - what you're feeding them is much better, why pollute it? They don't care if you add moisture; they probably like the thicker texture.
