Hello there from Indiana. My name is Michelle. I have four children, 2 dogs, Oreo and Anna; 2 cats, Boots and Gracie and 38 fish (yes, I counted correctly). Anna is our newest addition. She is a Yellow Lab. All of my animals except the fish are rescue animals. Anna was brought to me from a chaotic, nearly abusive home. She is turning out to be a good dog but has some more learning to do. Oreo is my older dog, a beagle mix. She was in a shelter that was near the term limit and when I saw her online I knew that she belonged in our family. I drove 130 miles to get her. Boots, the cat is a rescue of sorts. His momma was a stray who found her way to us. She died shortly after giving birth so we hand fed her kittens. Gracie recently found her way to us. She was nearly starved and exhausted. After feeding her and giving her rest and care, she is now doing quite well.
We have had many other rescue cats, most of whom have found their way to my doorstep near death and in need of care. I don't think I could ever turn away an animal in need of a home or in need of care.
