Just curious as to why you are bringing her home so young?

She is from a pet store, not a breeder. meaning she was taken from her mother BEFORE 6 weeks  not nice i know. But I would rather her come to a knowlegable home.
cant wait to see her

Congrats, but why did you get her from a pet store in the first place? I am not trying to bash you or anything, but I am just curious.

my mum and sisters choice. i practically begged grace to go to a shelter first and she said she probably wouldnt because they were all fully grown and she wanted a puppy. which is fair enough but there are heaps of puppies at shelters without a home!
then I warned her about puppy mills and all but she wouldnt really have any of it and in the end her choice.
ahh well, we still gonna get a little darling

I wonder why she didnt find a breeder instead:confused: . Well, I cant wait to see some pictures:D !! Do you have any idea what she is mixed with?

not sure yet. but i suppose it was partly to do with cost and lotsly because we don't need a purebred. I do love mixes. lol

I can't wait to see a pic of the pup. I don't agree with buying at a store, but since they already have the pup, I hope for all the best of health and happiness.

Just an FYI, you will generally pay less for a pup from a reputable breeder than from a pet shop. Plus, you will have health guaruntees and a knowledgeable person to call about any difficulties.
The first stop with a pet shop puppy should be the vet, btw.
What is done is done, so I am glad the puppy has a good home and congratulations on your new companion :)

To be honest due to her age and where she comes from I am sorry but I can't say that I am really happy for you, but you have the pup now nothing can be done about it so I will bite my tongue and just wish you well with your new puppy.

Saying it again for emphasis. If you bring parvo into your home, you will regret it.
Then there is the whole attachment issue.

That is a really young age:eek: the pup most definatly is not from a responsible breeder, I really hope she didn't come from a puppy mill, you may end up with a lot of health and behavioural problems, as motherofmany said, make the vet your first stop with that pup! I wish you the best of luck with her, I'm glad she found a good home! I can't wait to see those pics!:)

Petfinder is always a good way of locating pets in the US. They have lots of puppies - that's where I found mine - will pick up my cutie on Saturday March 4th.

I say congrats on your puppy. I got my Beagle at 6 weeks, and granted he has been a hand full to train, but I wouldn't give him for anything. What is done is done...good luck to you and congrats!

Hey mrose
All the best with your new pup. It didn't ask to be from the shop or seperated from its mum early.... I'm sure you'll give it a great life. Now post pics :)

I take all your concerns into account, i know. but it wasnt my decision so please dont tell me all teh facts I already know.
She is going to the vet today as she had some diarhea (sp?) this morning.
There is already parvo in our street so she is not going outside till she gets her shots.
she is young i know but im not sure she came from a puppy mill as aparently the people that bought her in to the pet store just dumped her. i dont think they got any $$ for her.
she has fleas. but we are treating the other dogs at the moment as they had them recently to.

here is Mac, Grace's little girl.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/mrose_s/mac005.jpg
unfortunatley, i dotn think either of the other dogs has quite come to terms with loosing daisy. they are both acting so strangley and different to their usua nature.
Sophie, who loves all small animals, seems to know that she is here to stay and that she wouldnt be here had we not lost daisy. Today was the first time she got out of bed and when Mac walked up to her she did these big growl/huffs she used to use to ward off buster when he was annoying her when he was a pup. however, she is huffing so much more and louder than originally, and jerking her head like she might bite her. so we hope she will warm up to her in a few weeks.
Buster, who usually has a large amount of small animal aggression towards anything not from our house...or the rabbits... is scared of her. she will walk up to her and he runs into things trying to get away :( its really sad. and he also looks like he might snap at her if she keeps following him. so she isnt getting a lot of animal to animal communication.
also, i dotn think she will be hard to toilet train. every time you put her on the grass, even just 20 minutes after she peed last, she will go again. lol.

we got all our dogs from a pet store -Melon, Snowy and Barny-. There isn't any breeder here in Dubai. Pet stores is our only choice.
All our dogs are healthy and happy. Melon is turning 10 this July and still a happy dog :)
So, good luck with your doggie -can't wait to se pictres:D-

the dogs are starting to calm down, buster even tried to play with her a couple of times.
get this, we have had her for 4 days and she can already take herself to the toilet. Grace just put her down today on the ground out the back on the cement and she ran all the way over to the grass just to pee. she cant go to the grass from inside yet because it is too far for her, but we were all pleasently surprised. she is so clever
