That's my sister on the right. Isn't she a piggy? I don't think she's staying. Good! She steals my food!

I am NOT a little piggy. Not anymore than my sis. I had to come and live here for awhile. Someone was going to shoot me!

what happened?? I read something about shooting:eek:
Yeah, we got them from a metis settlement. They are already 3 months old and nobody would take them. So I guess they were going to get shot. Stupid people. We were just going to take the one but then the other one would get shot    So now I have to rehome this other pup.
Ooh, Saje she is so beautiful. Kudos for taking them in, poor puppies.
Hmm, names are always so hard...

aw, so cute
PUPPIES!!! I can't help you with rehoming, you being in Canada and all, but let's see, you've got a Nanook, a Mikey and a Maverick...lots of 'k's'...Sukey?
Or you could just name her Zoom. :D

Where are you in Canada again? I have a friend in Moncton, NB..He's been talking about getting a new rot puppy. He has an older one. Maybe I could work my pursuasion skills....Unless you're on the other side of the country. I can't remember...
I am pretty much. I'm in Alberta. Too bad. I'd like it to go to a good home. Not some place that won't spay or vaccinate her.

Omg saje they are gorgeous!, i would love to take one but unfortunately i live in the UK, i'm going to alberta soon to visit my uncle, but i dont really think its wise to stress the puppy with the trip!,

Oh they are both so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it's a simple name, but how about Lucky (since the pup is lucky you were there to save her).

How sweet !!!! How about candy bar names ?? Mars, Snickers, etc
It's sooo hard finding a name. I know one will just hit me eventually but I hate calling her 'puppy' She came running over to see me today when i visited. Steve had her out in the yard playing and she knew me. She loves me already. It's true. :D
She's sure a little fatty. And for outside dogs they sure love being in the house!

Yes, they are both very cute pups!
As for names, I like Lucky too! Also, I posted on your other thread an idea of Shanook to go with Nanook???? What do you think about this one?

Where are you?
I'm in Missouri.
I hope you find someone...although if you don't, I think you'll end up with two puppies.
yeah but I'm really bonding with the one. She loves me already. :D she comes running over to see me and licks my fingers. And she sits in front of me and just looks at me until I pet her. And then she flops on her back for belly rubs. tooo cute. And peanut butter goes over very well.
Ok she's been adopted. I think it's a good home. It's Steve's boss' husband. I liked how he handled her and she'll have a young adult dog to play with. Plus I'll be able to get updates all the time.

Great to hear you found the pup a home, and that it's someone you know and can check up on how it's doing.
Peanut butter does go over VERY well.

yay! That's great news.
Ok BigDog came up with the name Lexi. And I looked it up. "Defender of mankind" lol Sounds like a GSD. I still have to ask her if she likes it but I like that name.
Ok the name Lexi has been vetoed by the bf. Sorry bigdog! He likes the idea of giving him a cree name since she came from a metis settlement.
So now I must ponder some more.
Oh, and we worked on sit and come this morning. Very good girl. And she follows us around so it's easy bringing her in and out of the house.
I really should unpack

do you think she's three months?
Renee750il
02-25-2006, 04:24 PM
She really doesn't look much more than 8 or 10 weeks, does she? I love her mask :D
Let's call her two months then. Worst case is she'll get spayed at seven months instead of six. And the adoption day is..... Feb. 15! :D

Did you find this site yet? http://www.saskschools.ca/curr_content/creelang/language/words/index.html
"moshkwa" is bear :D
Renee750il
02-25-2006, 04:54 PM
OH COOL! If you click on the black arrow above the words on that site you get the pronunciation :D
That's kind of neat. What would you call her for short?
Renee750il
02-25-2006, 05:32 PM
"Mosh" ? :D Steve should like that, lol! And her bed will, I guess, be the Mosh Pit . . .
I like it but I think it might be too ... much. Although, people think Nanook's name is too long but you just get used to it.

Two syllables, I've been told, is the ideal length for a dog's name . . .
What about Sakari. Means "sweet" in inuit.
http://www.cat-dog-names.com/eskimo-dog-names.html
See anyone else's name? :)
Tugger's Mom

I often thought of towns and cities...places would make a good name for a dog....
Aspen
Dakota
Paris
but if your bf is still into cree names....there are some really nice onces out there...
Atim means dog in some cree
Pipon is winter in cree
Nina means "me" in cree
Best of luck! Your puppy is adorable!!!

Oh my goodness they are so adorable!!!
I like Aspen.
I think we have agreed on Sakari. I little unusual... so it's perfect!
BTW she's perfect. I love her to death and she fits in sooo nicely with our family. Nanook adores her. Mav wants to play with her. Mikey is getting used to her but mostly ignores her still. She's coming when called. (she knows the tone) She eats well. Gooooo appetite! She had chicken necks last night and she's an excellent chewer! She also likes eggs, peanut butter, pumpkin, kibble, ... and basically anything.
Last night I laid on the couch and then called them  Nanook was sprawled on me and Sakari snuck up behind her until they were both licking my face and each other and playing with each other. And then Mav hung his great newfie head over the couch to snuffle with the rest of them lol. Mikey just watched. But he's ok. The big dogs were out in the yard wrestling all morning and he was a pretty happy dog.

beautiful puppies..so glad you were there to rescue them in the nick of time. I love the name too!
I'm glad Smkie. I think it's an unusual name but I think it works. :)

Hmmm . . . makes me wonder . . . "Sakari" = "sweet" in Inuit . . . "saccharine" . . . gotta find the roots for that word :D

One day i am going to name someone important in my life from the list that Love4PIts posted. I have always loved her names for her dogs and that was just as nice as could be that she posted them for me when Bronwyn and Aaron were picking out Frankie's name. bronwyn didn't chose from the list but i will one day. I have them stored in my documents. I also one day have to have a bird dog named SHamus..it is just too good to turn away.
