I have tried several times to resize my pictures and I keep getting a message they are to big. How do I resize small enough? Help please

I had to resize mine using the photo album program on my computer. It took several tries to get it right, though.

The avatar should be 100x100,if it doesn't allow you to upload it then check the size of it,by right click on the icon of the image and choose properties i think it should be under 39kb or something.
To reduce that you need a graphic program so as to compress the image.
like photoshop or any other editing software..you can find lots of them if you search in google.
