Toki has been holding all his poop until I take him out for a walk. He used to let it all out but since I've been walking him outside everyday he would poop all over the place. It's so annoying because sometimes he would do it inside the house. He would poop downstairs then run upstairs to finishing pooping. He makes me clean more than I have to. Anyone know why his doing this?

Is he holding it while you walking and then coming back in the house and doing it?

No holds it because he doesn't want to potty in the backyard anymore. His holding it until I take him out in our neighborhood to walk him.

Oh, smart little guy! Sounds like he's doing a good job of training you!

He may actually need the walk to stimulate him to have to go.

Could be him marking his territory.
My dog, Maverick, would not pee or poop outside unless we took him to the beach. We'd take him out onto the lawn infront of our building and he'd just look expectantly at us or towards the beach.

Yeah Toki is pretty smart. If were eating at the dining table he would go and find something to bite and do something bad so that I would tell him to "leave it alone'. And when he leaves it alone he knows he gets rewarded with food. So if I don't give him food he will go out and look for something to bite so that he will be rewarded with food. It's funny because I'll pretend that it doesn't bother me that his bitting shoes and then he will drag it and jump on my lap and bites it to get on my nerves. Then I finally say LEAVE IT then he gets food. haha

I'd praise him with pets then. I don't believe in giving ALL food rewards or they get a little nutty.
