Tonight i noticed my dog did not eat. He is about 11 year old golden retriever. Then later tonight i noticed that his paws were very cold. Anyone know what could be the cause? Is the cold paws something that comes with old age or is he going to pass soon?

I'm not sure what that means. Is it cold there? A call to your vet might ease your worry.

He had, but he was inside for at least and hour. I think he has arthritis so they were not crossed just laying flat on the carpet.

i would think that arthritis wouldn't cause them to be cold ...let us know what your vet says if they are still cold.would be good to know

If he has been in out of the weather it may be that he has poor circulation due to age. As with humans, the farther from the heart the poorer the circulation . It shouldn't mean he is ready to pass on soon if this is his only symptom but he might benefit from massage of his legs and feet, it may help get the blood flowing better. If he isn't already, you might try adding supplements for joint health and arthritis, those things wouldn't cause cold feet directly but they may keep him from moving as freely as he could and therefore limit circulation. I hope he is comfortable otherwise. Let us know.

Well it turns you he has a growth on his spleen and his liver. One has ruptured and cause him to bleed lowering the blood in his body. he had to get a blood transfusion and doctors said he could die today but the let him come home the day after surgery because he was doing so well. hes doing great. and only after a day of crying do i feel better

I weep and pray with you ! Love on him and massage this chest area and feet and legs as you do. As a Golden lover and owner for so many years , I expected my Goldens would live well beyond this age as so many of mine did. I was sadly mistaken when I lost my first at 11 years. I'm thinking of you both,
