Hi to everyone! This looks like a great site! :)

I have 2 standard poodles. Farley is a 5 1/2 yo black and Chloe is a cream who will be 4 in Jan. We are very active in obedience training and both of them love it! Farley is definitely my goofball and Chloe is the princess of the house. Playing fetch & swimming are 2 of their favorite activities.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone & your furpals!

Hi, I'm new too! Welcome! Tell me, are standard poodles ultra smart like I hear they are? The ones I've known have been awesomely smart and I hear they're like #1 or #1 (next to border collies?) on the dog smart list!

Hi EliNHunter! Over the years I have had 2 great danes and a variety of "Heinz 57 varieties" and I have to say I have found my standard poodles to be very intelligent and the easiest ever to train. :) Of course that has also led to some things I'd have rather they not have learned how to do: how to open the bread box (while leaving it in the corner on the counter) to steal the bread; how to open the glass sliding door; open drawers to get out the squeeky toys where I have hidden them; and things of that nature that I never had to contend with with any of the others! :rolleyes: But I will readily admit that I will never be without the companionship of at least one of these wonderful creatures! :)
