Hello,

This is my first post (I hope there will be others). I have come to you for your assistance as I live in France and there are several organizations who are trying in Europe to help the plight of the Greyhound. The most known is probably Greyhounds in Need:

In France there is Lévriers en Détresse and Passion Lévriers. They try to save the poor Galgos (greyhounds) in Spain who are, when no longer needed, thrown down pits, burnt alive, dragged behind cars, hung, etc. Passion Lévriers has a petition to try to put an end to all this suffering and we only have until 26th November to sign it. I know we can count on all you animal lovers out there by taking a minute to participate and sign their petition. What the heck is wrong with people !!!!
If you can't euthanize them .... put them up for adoption ...
Them being animals doesn't mean they can't feel pain.

Thank you all for your support. Yes Darkchild, they are a great breed and you have a lovely one. What cross is the one in the middle, he is a beauty too. We had a Galgo cross we brought back from Spain once, wounded on the road, and saved by two operations in a Paris clinic. We had a Barzoi we rescued and we have a Podenco. They have all been quiet, somehow dignified, no problem, lovely companions.

We also have many others, all rescues :)

They are all lovely, whatever breed, and it's good to share the passion with others...

I have to say, I really love the Greyhounds. Every single one I have ever met has been just a sweet natured dog. And their coats are so silky soft.

They are beautiful, so dignified and calm, I saw an abandoned Gaglo a few weeks ago, she was so sweet, hunting for food on a building site, really skinny. She wouldn't let anybody near her & seeing her like that was heartbreaking. I hope this does some good, I think it will be a difficult practise to end here.
