It will also extend the life of your dog by reducing it's chances for testicular cancer.

The housetraining part (probably) refers to the territory marking that an intact male indulges in on the corner of your brand new couch, the leg of the coffee table, the leg of the dining table...so since it removes that urge, then it would appear to have a greater effect in housebreaking.

Neutering will prevent your dog from fathering litters of unwanted puppies that will likely spend their lives in and out of shelters, and possibly be put to sleep :(. Please neuter him.

Agree with all of the above ......unless you are into serious breeding with a potential sire ....neuter !!!!

most importantly it will help prevent him from getting testicular cancer. If you are not breeding and he is a pet neuter him it will make him so much of a better pet for you.

A better question is, "Why shouldn't I neuter my beagle?" And there isn't a good answer. He'll be healthier, happier, better behaved, and as Kelbel said, you'll know you're not adding to the dog overpopulation problem! Neutering him is the best thing you can do for him, so I'm glad you asked. Lots of people just don't bother. Good for you!
