Hi all :p
My name is Isabel and I own two Swedish Vallhunds (Gizzmo and Bessa), a cat (Smulan) and a parrot (Mimmi), we all live in Sweden.
The Swedish Vallhund is a rare ancient breed with ancestors going back as far as the Viking era. The Swedish Vallhund is an amazing breed, it´s a small but very strong dog with a huge personality who loves to work. It doesn´t mater if it´s about herding cattle, agility, obedience or search and rescue, you can use the Vallhund to all of it.
Best regards

Wow, I've never seen or heard of a Swedish Vallhunds. How big do they get? Welcome to the board.

Hi
They look like small German Shepherds and are just the coolest. The ideal size for dogs is 33 cm (12,99") and for bitches is 31 cm (12,21"). Varietion of 1 cm over or under the ideal height is permitted.
Have a nice day

Thank you Candy
I payd 1000 USD (900 EUR) for Gizzmo and I got him at Kennel Rätt o Slätt (http://www.kennelrattoslatt.com/). I don't know in which country you live but if you are interested you can look att my webpage "The Lundstedt Vikings" (http://www.lundstedtsvikingar.net) (the english version) and you will find a linkpage with severel breeder around the world, maybe you find one in your country :p
Gizzmo is my first Vallhund and is my "once in a lifetime dog". I have had German shepherds all my adult life but I have never had a dog with such personal charm, this breed do have huge personality.
Best regards

I looked at your website. I couldn't get the English version, but did look at the gallery. What beautiful little dogs! You Shepherd is a handsome creature, too, but I've a real weakness for them.

That's odd
Is there anyone else that can't reach the english version through the swedish one???
Here is the address that goes directly to the english version "The Lundstedt Vikings" (http://hem.bredband.net/b217920/Eng.%20hemsida/welcome.htm), maybe you can reach the page through it. Please let me know how it goes.
Best regards :)

Thanks! That link worked. Very neat little dogs you have there. It always amazes me how well the old breeds developed for their differing harsh environments - and how they've survived into modern times.
