My sister and her husband own two dogs a Chi, jack russel and beagle cross and a lab who is not registered but is supposed to be a purebred
Well last night she called and said that their lab had pups
I said o.k. the dogs live outside and I asked her if the dogs had been brought in? she said no and I told her to get them in because it is getting cold here in Michigan
Anyways the dog had 8 pups four black and four yellow four females and four males and they are so cute I seen them today
The biggest problem they didn't even know the dog was pregnant  and they don't know who bred the dog she told me that there had been this golden retriver hanging around when she thinks the dog was in heat uggggh she makes me so mad  I told her to get her dog spayed as soon as she can at the clinic that I would pay for it the poor pups have to find homes now and I feel so bad for them and keep wondering what ones will end up in the shelter I may just take one so I know at least one is safe

Perhaps you could give her some info on how to raise the pups and maybe lend a hand, the pups sound like they will need someone who knows what they are doing

That's so sad. With you working at a clinic, you would think they would know all the horror stories of things like this by now! I'm assuming their other dog is female also?

That's really really sad :(. They should've had her spayed....they're lucky they didn't end up with a larger litter. And why did they have a lab living outside?? I know my lab would DIE if I made her live outside.

Trust me 8 is large, especially when they all attack you at once for cuddles lol, but 1 would be too much for this person, i just hope the pups will be ok

Yes eight is a lot, but they should be glad they didn't end up with more, retrievers can have pretty large litters!!

Hannah would die living outside too! She thinks it's torture when I have to put her in her crate and I'm home. She just lays there and whines and complains until we let her out agian. Poor lab. Atleast she didn't get hurt while delivering the pups.

May freaks if she's completely alone. She would die if I made her live outside, even if it were with two other dogs and I spent as much time with her then as I do now. She loves it outside, but she doesn't love being outside without me. Labs are velcro dogs. May won't let me out of her sight - she follows me all over and if I go somewhere she can't come, she sits and waits for me. She does love her crates though. She gets upset if the doors are closed LOL.

I stopped by her house yesterday to talk to her about the pups and what she was going to do
I also told her that she would need to watch Bailey to make sure she didn't get any infections and to bring her in tommorrow to have a pitocin shot (which would be today) and she needed to watch the pups closely to make sure they are all getting fed right
Her response was I don't really care I hope somthing happens to her then we won't have to worry about any more litters of puppies
I was so mad at her I told her to bring Bailey to my house tonight and we will take her and the puppies and find them and her all a great home of course after they are raised and she is spayed
Ash47- no the other dog is a male and he is not neutered but he only reaches just above Baileys ankles so it is highly unlikely that he bred her but it is possible if she laid down but the pups look like purebred labs at this point but that could change

OK - My Lab isnt velcro-ish but he knows when he's getting spoiled. He lives outside in a 30ftx10ft kennel run, he has a sturdy dog house with hay inside for bedding, he has a 10 gal. bucket of water out at all times his food bowls are rotated daily, his kennel run is cleaned daily, and he has plenty of toys in the kennel run to keep him occupied. He's an outside Lab, but he's well taken care of. If it drops down to freezing temps (Im talking 32 or below) he gets put in his crate in the garage that is attached to the house where its about 50-60 degrees in there. On hunts he wears a vest that keeps him warm, and he is throughly dried before being put back in his kennel during the winter to keep him from getting hypothermia since water cools the body 25% faster.

Your sister has so many things wrong with her, I wouldn't know where to start!! (I mean no disrespect to you).
I'm glad that you are responsible enough to take care of her mistakes... hopefully all of the puppies go to good homes, make sure they sign a spay/neuter contract, and avoid this problem again!!
Ugh!! :(
That being said, I WANT PICTURES OF PUPPY GOODNESS!!

Hats off to you wildwings. Good luck with placing the next litter and mother. Everyone wants the christmas puppy. You might end up having to keep them until jan 1. Hang in there. We're all routing for you
