Dog 4-H

Anybody here do dog 4-H because I Do and it is so fun I got 20 ribbons last year!

4-H is basically fun showing for mixes and purebreds! :D :)

4-H is not about dogs, although that can be one of your projects.

It is basically a club for kids and teens.

They camp and have indiviual projects etc. And regular meetings, and fundraisers etc.

I was in 4-H as a kid, and it was always fun.

My gerbil was one of my projects, and there are alot of other
interests to choose from.

I would tell you alot more, but my memory is kinda foggy LOL.

They also had different "tribes" and put on skits at 4-H camp.
Camp was one of the best things in 4-H.

4 h is heart health home and something else. and dogs are apart of the it now days. actually. they were starting it back when i was in school. but yes just like cows and horses and the rest it is apart of it now adays. :D

4-H is fun, but I don't do it. The 4-H site here in georgia is located at Rock Eagle. Rock Ealge is like a camp site and on a mountain/hill there is an eagle shaped w/ rocks. My sister went there and she loved it!

I have rabbits that I do 4-H in, its my 7th year this year and I started doing chicken 4-H last year. all my friends got horses and other bigger animals and left me with stupid bunnies and now i really want a dog! what is a good dog for me? I really like Picardy shepherds but there arnt any breeders I can find in the US. Its realy rare to find one here i guess. they come from france. but yeah 4-h is awesome!!! I live in a small county in washington so our fairs-shows arnt really that competitive. its really nice and SUPER fun! there are so many projects you can do in 4-h! its insane. even like table decorating and photography and potatoes.

well do u know that there r other things to a dog than just food and showing?

of corse I do! I know that it takes alot of time to have a dog. it is not all about showing. Showing a dog to me is like a side treat. the best part of having a dog is loving it. its becomes your best friend.. its a big responsibility too, but it is always worth it!

I am a 4-H member. I have been training dogs in both 4-H and open shows for seven years now. I first started in 4-H when I was eight. I have gone the Ohio State Fair ever year. Every year I have placed at least in one thing, if not more. I also compete in both AKC and UKC obedience. I compete in NADAC, CPE, and UKC agility.

I urge everyone to get into 4-H. For me, it has taught me so many things. When I was younger and had no friends, that is where I made the life-long friends I have today. I also like to urge adults to get their children started early into 4-H/dog training. I just cannot praise my experiences in 4-H enough.

You still can participate in 4H even though you have a "real show dog".

I have been doing the 4-H dog program for 3 years now with my black lab Ebony. It is a TON of fun and you learn a Ton too. I got 1st in dog care this year with Ebony and 1st in obiedence with Rocky, my black lab/rottie mix. where are you from????

Here in Ohio you have to be 8 or 9, but I do remember starting at age 8.

my brother owns two Picardy Shepherds both are imports. Their names are Zero (male) and Magic (female). They are great dogs ALOT of work with training though. He does agility with his does or hopes to as he is now laid up because of a motorcycle accident.
