This is gross !

My families shephard/choclate lab 8month old puppy it's our other two dogs waste :mad: He won't eat his own only the other dogs. Why does he do this? Is their something that he is missing in his diet? Or is it a bad habit? Please help :confused:

Try the stuff called Forbid (they have other names for it like Yuck, etc). Put it into the food of the dog (it's like a powder). Pet stores, your vet, online, or catalog all carry it. It's gross but some dogs do it. Basically the powder makes it taste gross... you would think that it already tastes gross but...
It will tell you how much to use per weight of the dog.
There can be many reasons for why, but this usually will stop it. I have heard of a few dog (very few) that it didn't work but this is a good 1st step.
Good luck and remember what we think is gross isn't always gross to our dog. Just like we wouldn't lick our butt and then turn around and eat our food either.

My white shepherd has this problem too...but worst, she eats all poo from her own and other dogs :( & she likes to roll in them too grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......

Don't worry about it ... most dogs,especially pups, do it. Mine used to eat his own poop and I tried a lot of stuff that didn't work but he stopped on his own

Yucky did it until he was about 6 months and then he just stopped doing it and has not done it since. It is really gross but I tried the Yuck and it did not work at all. Now you know why we called him YUCK for a nickname.
