We had a few flies inside our house and my pup hunted them down and killed them.

Well instead of just killing them, he caught them in mid air and just ate them on the spot.

Can there be anything bad from that?

My chi takes great sport in catching flies. Usually she can't catch them but every once in while she does. My husband says that it ok just some extra protein. YUCK!
Now bees I make sure she stays far away! I don't want her to even think of tying to catch then.

I don't think so. At least no bigger risk than a fly landing on his food or nose. Well, except for a good case of the heebie jeebies if he gives you a kiss right after and leaves wing-bits on your face.

We had a Border Collie that would do that. I used to try to discourage it because a bumblebee would look like a big, tasty, treat to her.

Shouldn't hurt Orion in the least. I would, though, discourage him from wasps, lol!

Orion and Aubrey must be related, because she is a better exterminator than Terminex. Any bug she's see...dead. Just boom and gone.

I take it Aubrey hasn't crossed paths with a Daddylonglegs yet . . . They stink and evidently taste just awful  :D Even Shiva won't eat one of those, lol!

No...just beetles, crickets, moths, flies...she leaves spiders alone, mainly because I get to them first.

My cat lived 17 years eating flies all the time. King eats some once in a while, bees too. Doesn't seem to bother him.
